Poor start costs United

AFTER a poor start against Brandon Park on the weekend, Carrum United was down 4-0 at half time in a disappointing start in their Provisional League One South East soccer match.
However, a more respectable second half saw Brandon Park score another three goals to Carrum United’s two to produce a final score line of 7-2.
Four goals from striker Robert Benedos set up Brandon Park for an easy win and kept its hopes of finishing second alive and obtaining promotion for the second year running.
The shining light for Carrum United was the form of striker Mauro Cordoma, who scored two consolation goals.
Although still deep in the relegation zone, Carrum United still has six games to play and will need to regroup to fight its way to survival.
This week the team travels to Warragul.
Over the years both teams have had great and competitive games against each other and this weekend should be another good contest.
The reserves result saw Brandon Park beat Carrum United 2-1.
