City captured in the twilight zone

PHOTOGRAPHER Timothy Boulton exposes Dandenong in a range of pictures shot at twilight as part of his exhibition Falling Light.
The exhibition is the latest to hit Dandenong’s Walker Street Gallery and will be showing for nearly all of this month.
The images create a number of feelings for the artist, with Boulton describing the series as opening possibilities, contrasts and the potential of Dandenong.
Gallery coordinator Cathy van Ee said the photographs showed, in some instances, a spectacular side to the city.
“The exhibition takes you on a twilight walk through Dandenong,” she said.
“Timothy has caught some of the feature landmarks of this city through his chosen medium of photography.”
Boulton’s interest in photography started early.
At the age of eight, and with great enthusiasm, he sought to capture the world around him.
He recently, through the mentoring of a professional photographer, explored the advantages of digital imaging which has given him greater flexibility with the immediacy of the medium.
“Traveling through the Asia-Pacific region has inspired Timothy to push his skills further in capturing moments of time and light that others would appreciate,” Ms van Ee said.
“He entered the Al Thani award for photography in Qatar, receiving a commendation for his photography in 2007.”
Falling Light will feature at the Dandenong Community Arts Centre from 4 to 28 March.
The Walker Street Gallery is located at the corner of Walker and Robinson Streets, Dandenong.
The gallery is open 11am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
