Film taggers, says frustrated councillor

VIDEO cameras should be installed to tackle the city’s graffiti vandals.
That’s the view of Greater Dandenong’s Dandenong Ward councillor, Jim Memeti, who this week said he was sick and tired of vandals tagging public buildings with spray paint.
Cr Memeti called on the council to consider installing video surveillance cameras outside key council-owned buildings including The Castle and the Dandenong Market.
“I’m sick and tired of graffiti artists graffiti-ing over our buildings,” he said.
“We should install surveillance to catch them.”
Council officers responded to Cr Memeti’s request, saying the market site already had surveillance, and that other options – not just surveillance – would be considered for the city’s public buildings.
