PLAY time will be upgraded at two Greater Dandenong schools thanks to $12,000 worth of State Government funding announced this week.
Maralinga Primary School in Keysborough and Yarraman Park Primary School in Noble Park were each granted $6000 as announced by Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos on Tuesday.
Mr Pandazopoulos said the funding was part of a broader $780,000 state package, titled Go For Your Life, to provide improved outdoor facilities.
Maralinga plans to use the funds for a water tank, fencing and garden shed, while Yarraman Park will use the money for outdoor dining furniture, bike racks and line marking.
“These grants reinforce the Government’s commitment to the Go For Your Life campaign, which promotes healthier lifestyles, physical activity and healthy eating to reduce prevalence of obesity and diabetes in Victoria’s communities,” Mr Pandazopoulos said.
