$20,000 gives children’s wish list a dream start

By Shaun Inguanzo
SERIOUSLY ill children will have their wildest wishes granted thanks to vital funds raised by Noble Park RSL and a Pakenham financial planner.
AMP financial planner Michael O’Rourke at Pakenham Financial Services teamed with Noble Park RSL last month to raise a combined $20,000 for the Cardinia Casey branch of the Make A Wish Foundation.
The branch will use the money to assist in granting seriously ill children their wishes.
The RSL club raised $10,000, and Mr O’Rourke matched the sum with the help of the AMP Foundation.
The Noble Park RSL held a golf day on 8 October followed by a gala dinner on 13 October to raise its $10,000.
Mr O’Rourke said he was excited by the significant amount of money raised.
“This is the fourth year that we have been able, together with the AMP Foundation, to support this worthwhile charity” he said.
“We hope that granting a wish will provide an avenue of hope and strength to ‘wish’ children and their families.
Noble Park RSL released a statement congratulating the community on supporting the fundraiser and thanking the volunteers who chipped in to make both the golf day and gala dinner each a success.
