IF you have to die, it’s probably better to go with a mate.
Even so, officers at the Australian Animal Protection Society’s Keysborough Animal Shelter hope six pairs of dogs don’t end up confirming that statement.
The shelter has custody of 12 dogs that arrived in pairs, and they have only a few weeks to live unless homes can be found because the shelter is not allowed to keep them beyond a set time.
Jill Womersley from the shelter said each pair had a strong bond.
“We’d love to home them together, but it’s not imperative,” she said.
Rocky, a twoandahalfyearold rottweiler cross boxer, and Ruby, a twoyearold labrador cross staffordshire, arrived together.
“They are both loving and friendly dogs.
“They play together, sit on demand and would be devoted companions,” Ms Womersley said.
