Bulls aim for the next step

NOBLE Park will start its quest to go one better than 2006 in the Eastern Football League (EFL) when it takes on Lilydale in round one.
Lilydale will be hoping for a similar season to last year, when it made the Division One finals for the first time, and will get an early indicator of its form with the clash against the 2006 runner-up on 21 April.
Noble Park won both of the teams’ 2006 encounters by less than a goal.
Vermont will unfurl its flag, and the extension to its clubrooms, in round one when it hosts East Ringwood.
Scoresby will unfurl its Division Two senior and reserve flags in round one, when it hosts Croydon in the top-level competition.
This game will see the return of former East Ringwood coach Greg Freemantle to the coaching fold at Croydon, while Kristian Bardsley will enter his fifth year as coach at Scoresby.
Ringwood will welcome back former premiership coach Steve Parsons as the Redbacks become the first side to introduce Balwyn to the EFL after its transfer from the Southern Football League.
Parsons will pit his coaching skills against new Balwyn coach and former Collingwood premiership player Mick McGuane.
New coaches Trevor Perrin (East Burwood) and Scott Grigg (Donvale) will go head to head in round one, with their sides meeting in the first round for the second year in a row.
Grigg will be hoping he can reverse the result of last year’s encounters, when the Rams won both battles.
Norwood will begin its first venture into Division One on home soil, welcoming Blackburn to Mullum Reserve.
Mark Attard will lead Norwood for the first time as coach.
