GOODWILL for five agedcare residents from the Greater Dandenong community and beyond continued to shine through last week.
Edna, Clifford, Albert, Cyril and Nola were moved to the Scottvale aged care facility in Dandenong after the special care accommodation home they were living in closed down.
They had no money or possessions until the Dandenong RSL subbranch’s welfare committee, with the help of Dandenong police and nursing home staff, teamed up to coordinate a public appeal.
It resulted in a flood of items being donated by the community to the five residents.
Televisions, DVDs, radios, furniture, and even garden equipment were passed on via the RSL to the residents.
The latest gift was a free performance for Scottvale residents from local band Hams’ Sandwich, with band members Kevin Leydon, Neil Davidson, Jim Mills and Richard Desmond putting on an afternoon of entertainment.
