Losses shock teams

DOVETON and Springvale City both suffered shock losses on Saturday and are in danger of losing touch with the ladder leaders in the Football Federation Victoria State League Three South East competition.
Hosting the seventh-placed Morwell Pegasus, Doveton was down by a goal at half-time at Waratah Reserve.
Despite a second-half consolation goal from Thomas Ingham, Doveton couldn’t claw back the deficit, leaking another two goals to surrender the points.
Morwell’s Clayton Bell slotted a double for the Pegasus, while Lee Shankland’s finish put the result beyond doubt.
Doveton faces a must-win home game this week against Nunawading City, which was played off the pitch in a 3-0 loss to Berwick City.
Meanwhile, Springvale City travelled to R.J. Sillitoe Reserve to face a struggling Sandringham City side.
The Vales conceded an early goal to Simon Ferrie and were unable to equalise in the second half.
The task doesn’t get any easier for the Vales, who host the Eastern Lions at Ross Reserve on Saturday.
The Lions will be keen to atone for a 3-1 home loss to Frankston which saw them surrender top spot.
