SPRINGVALE residents have been pouring their hearts into washing cars this week as part of a national fundraising initiative.
Carwash Springvale, on the corner of Heatherton and Springvale Roads, has teamed up with the National Heart Foundation and marathon swimmer Tammy van Wisse in order to promote the Australian Car Wash Association’s (ACWA) Wash and Help Week.
Carwash Springvale owner Rob Basset said the business would dedicate one self-wash bay to the fundraiser which is expected to raise $100,000 for charities across Australia with all ACWA members combined.
Every dollar from that bay will go directly to the National Heart Foundation, he said.
Carwash Springvale manager Robert Smithers said through the simple act of car washing, residents could also give to a worthy charity.
