LINKING the Dandenong Southern Bypass to the Westall Road Extension to prevent traffic jams in Keysborough will be a priority in the City of Greater Dandenong’s presentation to the Community Cabinet.
The Cabinet meeting, scheduled to be held in Dandenong next Wednesday, will allow for the hearing of community groups’ submissions for projects to be considered in the forthcoming State Budget.
Greater Dandenong mayor Peter Brown said other than improving rail transportation in Dandenong, linking the Dandenong Southern Bypass beyond Perry Road and to the Westall Road Extension was a council priority.
“It will make it easier for motorists and improve the flow of traffic through Dandenong without coming to a dead end,” he said.
“The ultimate problem of the South East Bypass is it finishes at Perry Road, and we will get a huge amount of traffic pouring into the residential area of Keysborough.”
