ORGANISERS of the inaugural Noble Park Market say they are overwhelmed with joy at the success of Sunday’s event held in the carpark of the town’s RSL club.
More than 1000 people passed through the market which was blessed by fine weather and a healthy variety of stallholders.
Star was on scene to feel the community vibe that took place as people who may otherwise be strangers to one another came together to celebrate the township with its very first market.
Noble Park RSL president Gordon Murray said the turnout and feedback from residents and stallholders was ‘beyond expectations’.
“We’re very impressed with the response from the local community and stallholders,” Mr Murray said.
“It’s a great thing for Noble Park – and one of the ladies who helped set up on Sunday said she noticed a real buzz around Noble Park about the market.”
Funds raised from stallholders totalled $600 – all of which the RSL will give directly to Youth Links, a not-for-profit service provider based in Noble Park that aims to keep young people in work and off the streets.
Mr Murray said the next market, to be held on the last Sunday of April, would have more fresh produce after the roaring success of the hydroponic tomato stall.
“We also are looking at a little bit of entertainment – probably some good buskers.”
Anyone interested in being part of the market should contact Gordon Murray at the Noble Park RSL on 9548 3750.
Friendly greetings at the meet market
