GREATER Dandenong residents considering Australian citizenship are encouraged to attend a free course beginning on 14 April.
The course covers information required to pass the citizenship test and includes components on the English language.
Greater Dandenong mayor John Kelly said participants in previous years had gained a better understanding of Australia and what it meant to be an Australian citizen.
“The course includes information on Australian institutions, contemporary values, the multicultural society, government, law and democracy,” Cr Kelly said.
“There is also information on the application process and citizenship ceremony.”
The course will run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm every Monday from 14 April to 2 June at Springvale Library, 405 Springvale Road, Springvale. Bookings are essential. Phone English Language and Literacy Access on 9239 5326 for more information.
