IT’S NEVER too late to learn a new trick or two.
That’s the message hundreds of adults from the Greater Dandenong area discovered at the Adult Learners Expo and Virtual Classes event last week.
The Springvale City Hall was the site of the expo, which was a collaborative project between the City of Greater Dandenong council and local neighbourhood houses, which run adult education courses.
Attendees discovered the wide world of adult education on offer at their neigbourhood houses, including, but not limited to, dancing, English language, and computer and internet training.
Mayor Youhorn Chea said adults were never too old to learn.
“Whether discovering a craft, learning a language or simply honing the skills we already have, the choices are almost limitless for people wishing to expand their minds and enhance their lives in Greater Dandenong,” he said.
“The Adult Learners Expo and Virtual Classes provided a snapshot of the many adult education opportunities available to residents.”
On-site information stalls included representatives from Centrelink, higher education providers, Adult Multicultural Education Services, JobNetwork agencies, community advice bureaus, community learning centres and more.
