BURDEN Park’s top Victorian Ladies’ Bowls Association side suffered its first defeat for the season in their return match against Dandenong Club, losing 91-86.
Dandenong Club handled the strong wind better than Burden Park and won the cliffhanger in the last few ends.
Burden Park’s second side was also defeated, beaten by Dandenong City 124-94.
The third side received a walkover against Edithvale.
In the Royal Victorian Bowls Association, Burden Park’s Premier side is facing relegation after losing to Yarraville 93-90.
The team will need at least three more wins in the next seven games to avoid this prospect.
The second side again proved its worth in Division One with a solid win over Montmorency 112-86.
Mitch Meyer with Don Dodds, Gary Rush and Fritze Helle were big winners, scoring 42-11.
Up against the section’s top side, Burden Park’s third side won 92-86 and consolidated its position in Division Three.
The fourth side’s up and down season saw it up this week against Glen Waverley, winning 111-85.
The fifth and sixth sides were not at fortunate, losing to Mulgrave 99-89 and Vermont South 98-80 respectively.
