HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the stabbing murder of a 47-year-old Noble Park man whose body was found beneath an EastLink bridge last week.
Police this week revealed that the badly decomposed body was that of Branko Juran.
Police said a passer-by spotted Mr Juran’s body beneath the Cheltenham Road EastLink overpass near Keysborough on Thursday 21 February at 7.45am.
Mr Juran’s body was so badly decomposed that police spent several days trying to determine his identity.
Police said his injuries were suspicious and not self-inflicted, and an autopsy later revealed he had died from stab wounds.
Mr Juran’s body was dressed in black tracksuit pants with white flashings down the outside of the legs.
He was also wearing a slipper and a shirt.
Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the murder.
