DANDENONG residents had a meal, a dance – and all that jazz – when the New Melbourne Jazz Band swung into town last weekend.
The world-renowned sextet of jazz junkies returned to a sell-out crowd at the Dandenong RSL on Saturday night.
The band has been together for more than 20 years and has toured the United States as well as Australia.
In 1984, the band was made the Official Jazz Ambassador for the City of Melbourne, and throughout the years it has appeared on national television, as well as headlining the nation’s top jazz festivals. A removable dance floor was laid at the RSL to allow for those with the urge to dance to strut their stuff before the audience.
