A PATCHWORK quilt designed by Dandenong’s University of the Third Age (U3A) students will be sent to China as part of Greater Dandenong’s sister city relationship with Xuzhou City.
Keysborough Ward councillor Roz Blades said the U3A was working hard on creating the quilt for a group of like-minded Chinese senior citizens who recently sent a hand-painted silk scroll to the U3A.
Cr Blades described the silk scroll as beautiful, and said it contained Chinese lettering with floral artwork.
It will hang in the Paddy O’Donoghue Centre in Noble Park, in the U3A office.
Cr Blades, who has previously targeted younger residents with her sister city schools projects, said she hoped the U3A’s involvement would broaden ties with Xuzhou City.
