Artists’ inner journeys

‘IN THE ROUND’ takes its inspiration from the artistic form of the mandala, and is the latest exhibition at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens.
Artist Karen Scott has been teaching and painting mandalas for many years and ‘In the Round’ showcases the work of her students.
The exhibition, which runs between 20 August and 19 September, is inspired by mandala art, which encloses patterns and symbols within a circle.
Ms Scott said each artist had painted their own mandala – each one depicting an individual map of an inner journey.
She said the mandala had been used as an art form in many cultures for thousands of years, and was the great artistic symbol of human experience.
“This is a unique exhibition,” Ms Scott said.
“Mandala art is used for personal expression, discovery, healing, integration and more.
“It has long been recognised to have the potential to promote health and well-being.”
‘In The Round’ will run from Wednesday, 20 August until Friday, 19 September at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens.
The exhibition will be open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.
