STUDENTS at CoomooraPrimary School have placed in the top 10 per cent of the state – two of them within the top one per cent – in a maths competition run by the University of New South Wales.
Teacher Linda Brodie said the competition had been run Australia-wide for grades three through to six.
“Our students, who come from low socio-economic backgrounds, have done very well,” she said. “About 10 have distinctions which places them in the top 10 per cent, and two have high distinctions which is in the top one per cent.”
