“PLEASE come home.” That’s the cry for help from Dandenong’s Salush Shpetini whose father has been missing since 14 November.
Worried for the safety of her schizophrenic 70-year-old father Jakup Jashari (pictured), Ms Shpetini has appealed to the public to help bring her father home.
Mr Jashari left his special accommodation unit at Crystal Manor on Harold Road in Noble Park to catch a bus to his daughter’s house in Dandenong.
He never arrived.
While his daughter says that he has gone missing before, Ms Shpetini says she is worried he has not contacted anyone.
“When he was living with us he would often just go to the beach,” she said. “But he left the nursing home to visit me three weeks ago and we have heard nothing from him since.”
Ms Shpetini said she spoke to her father three days before he went missing. “I asked him why he did not visit me like he usually did the week before,” she said.“He told me he wasn’t feeling so well and had decided not to make the trip from Noble Park to Dandenong.”
She also called on the day he went missing.
“I thought I would check that he was coming,” Ms Shpetini said.“But when I called, the nursing home said he had just left… I have not heard from him since.”
Police are also concerned about Mr Jashari’s whereabouts as it is believed Mr Jashari did not have his medication or money with him. Ms Shpetini said her father was greatly missed not only by his family, but by the broader community in Dandenong and Noble Park.
“He was the first Albanian to come to Australia, so he has a lot of friends throughout the community,” she said. “Please come home, Dad.”
Anyone who has seen the missing man, or anyone with information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au.
