CHRISTMAS cheer was the order of the day when Captain Starlight from the Starlight Foundation visited sick children at Dandenong Hospital on Tuesday.
In conjunction with toy company Funtastic, the Starlight Foundation visited the children’s ward, bringing plenty of presents.
Throughout the year the Starlight Foundation visits sick children to make their stay at hospital as comfortable as possible.
During the festive season, Captain Starlight has the extra-special task of sharing the joy of Christmas with these kids, delivering presents along with much-needed positive distraction and entertainment.
Bella Burns, Victorian programs manager for the Starlight Foundation, said it was great to be able to spread the joy of Christmas to children at Dandenong Hospital.
“This visit will give kids something to look forward to in the lead-up to Christmas,” she said. “It will also help patients and their families to escape the loneliness, boredom and stress of hospital life.’’
As Christmas approaches, Starlight has appealed to the public to bring happiness to 182 seriously ill children who are waiting for their very special Christmas gift, a Starlight Wish.
