DANDENONG employers looking for apprentices and trainees can find willing and enthusiastic volunteers more easily than they think.
MEGT Group Training, in Dandenong, has helped local businesses employ more than 100 apprentices and trainees.
Business development consultant Lisa Veale said the program aimed to place willing young people with employers who needed them.
Ms Veale said MEGT provided employers with a hassle-free approach to finding an apprentice, but also took on a mentoring role.
“We make sure young people keep their jobs through careers counselling and advice,” she said.
MEGT manages the processes involved in employing an apprentice or trainee.
Ms Veale said it interviewed motivated applicants, provided required industry training, paid wages and monitored staff discipline and performance.
She said the recruitment process was free. MEGT sends an invoice to employers each week based on the hours the apprentice has worked.
