Company gains funds for clean water treatment

A DANDENONG South based company has been awarded a Climate Ready Grant for developing an innovative pre-treatment process for high water recovery and energy efficient osmosis processes.
The directors of Clean TeQ Holdings Limited who are primarily involved in air and water purification and resource recovery, announced the grant as part of Federal Government funding.
Through the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and AusIndustry, Clean TeQ will be offered 50 per cent of eligible expenditure capped at around $1m for its Clean-iX and Reverse Osmosis technology project.
“This project aims to develop, investigate and test the operational performance of the CleaniX technology as a pre-treatment for reverse osmosis.
This will make reverse osmosis processes more efficient and is an important technical innovation given the increasing need for water treatment in response to climate change impacts,” said Greg Toll, Clean TeQ’s chief executive officer.
“Clean TeQ has developed a well-proven platform technology, Clean-iX, for the separation and purification of materials,” Mr Toll said.
He said the project would apply the Clean-iX process for the first time in a new way to remove chemical components in the feedwater, which constrain conventional reverse osmosis operations.
“It will result in improved water recovery, improved energy efficiency, and less waste production,” he said.
