CHISHOLM Institute of TAFE Dandenong will receive almost $1.3 million of funding to modernise teaching and learning facilities.
As part of the Federal Government’s $200 million Better TAFE Facilities investment, the Dandenong institute will now be able to refurbish the Dandenong auditorium and rollout their wireless network.
Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications officer at Chisholm, Barbara Crawford, said the enhancement of Chisholm’s wireless local area network for staff and students would mean that students were better able to directly access myChisholm from their own devices.
“MyChisholm is a new online space for staff and students where they can access institute news, ELearning initiatives, online course related and library learning materials as well as research and engage in new open learning spaces on-site,” she said.
“The implementation of up-to-date wireless technology at Chisholm means staff and students have access to the necessary tools for contemporary educational practice.”
Local MP Alan Griffin said the investment would enable local people to access the education and training they needed, in quality facilities locally.
“Our community will benefit from this investment through improved teaching facilities, a skilled workforce and from the economic activity generated by such infrastructure projects,” Mr Griffin said.
