Burning question for police

POLICE are investigating two car fires in Greater Dandenong over the weekend.
Detective Senior Constable Stuart Freeman said the two separate incidents put car fires in the area “on the radar” for police.
The first fire occurred at 2am on Friday when a stolen Toyota station wagon was found alight in Flinders Street, Noble Park. Det Freeman said the car was stolen in November.
The other, was in Flynn Street, Springvale, at 6.30am on Saturday.
A blue Nissan Nomad van was found alight after its 57-year-old owner parked it outside his home.
“The man said he heard loud banging noises before he went outside to find it on fire,” Det Freeman said.
“It was so loud it woke his neighbours.”
The two incidents followed another car fire in Kelvin Grove, Springvale, the previous weekend.
Police are calling on witnesses to all three incidents to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
