THE 138th annual Dandenong Show is on this weekend and is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The show will run on both days of the weekend with plenty of carnival rides, activities, performances and stalls to keep people of all ages entertained.
The RAAF Hot Air Balloon will be displayed on both days and will offer free tethered rides throughout the weekend, subject to weather.
There will also be roving entertainment throughout the weekend and the Whip Industries Mini Bike Stunt Shows will be on the main arena Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
Showjumping has returned to the main arena this year with sponsored prize money and a great number of competitors already entered.
The Showmen’s Carnival will feature brand-new rides imported from overseas which are sure to thrill.
Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society president Stan Fear said no other festival in the City of Greater Dandenong offers the experience of the traditional agricultural show.
“People should come along to see the animals, art and crafts, vintage machinery, together with all the fun and excitement of the carnival area and the free activities,” he said.
“I would like to encourage people to come regardless of the weather as we have plenty of shade and many interesting things such as art and craft demonstrations and sheep shearing undercover in large pavilions.”
Everyone who buys a ticket at the gate will go in the draw for a five night, five star accommodation package on Hamilton Island.
The Dandenong Show will run from 9am until last entries at 9pm on Saturday 14 November and from 9am until 4pm on Sunday 15.
It will be held at the Dandenong Showgrounds, Greaves Reserve, Bennet Street Dandenong.
