AFTER weeks of separation, a Noble Park couple were able to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary together last week.
Bob Bush, 84, was in the hospital suffering from dementia while his wife Elsie, 82, was in respite care.
Their son Bob said even though his father was quite sick, he was hopeful his parents would be able to spend their wedding anniversary together.
He and his siblings contacted TLC Aged Care in Noble Park and founder and chairman John Leaper helped arrange for the two to be together.
TLC Aged Care Chief Executive Ingrid Williams and the team at TLC Aged Care Noble Manor attended to the paperwork, preparing rooms and getting everything ready for an important anniversary celebration and reunion.
Mr Bush said it was “brilliant” to see his parents reunited just in time to celebrate their anniversary on 14 March.
“Dad and mum both had a smile on their face,” he said.
“My wife Virginia and I were able to celebrate with them. Virginia was also a great support.”
The couple celebrated with music and cake.
Dr Leaper said he and staff were proud to be part of such an important day in Else and Bob’s life.
“Not too many years ago my parents were in a similar position and the need to keep them together was paramount,” he said.
“We feel privileged to be in a position where we can help bring about another happy result.”
