COMMUNITY banking is now available in Hallam 24 hours a day.
About 30 people gathered for the opening of the Bendigo Bank ATM at the Hallam Pharmacy in Spring Square last month.
The installation of the ATM is part of the local campaign for a Hallam Community Bank.
Steering committee chairman Danny Gan said that although the primary aim was to return branch banking to the local community, any initiative that made banking access easier for locals would be welcome in Hallam.
“I am most pleased that as a chemist I have been able to be part of the community push to get a full bank facility, which Spring Square has never had,” Mr Gan said.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan opened the ATM, congratulating the traders and residents who had spent time collecting the pledges to set up the bank.
