FORMER WNBL all-star and championship player Jess Foley this week signed a two-year deal with the rebuilding Dandenong Rangers.
The 27-year-old guard, who averaged over 15 points and six rebounds with Adelaide last season, will join the Rangers when she returns from a playing stint with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbache next week.
The signing continues an aggressive off-season recruiting campaign that has also landed emerging Opals star Abby Bishop and former Sydney Uni forward Elli Manou in recent weeks.
Foley was a key contributor in Australia’s 2009 FIBA Oceania campaign as the Opals successfully qualified for this year’s World Championships.
She was named in the WNBL all-star five in the 2008/09 season, when the Lightning won the championship.
Dandenong Basketball Association operations manager Leigh Gooding said Foley would bring a winning attitude to Stud Road.
“We believe Jess will add to our group through her experience, leadership and competitiveness,” he said.
