SOUTHERN Cross Primary School celebrated the diverse backgrounds of its students last week.
The Endeavour Hills school held its Multicultural Day last Thursday, arranged by the school’s parent group.
Students had the opportunity to dress in their national costumes or wore colours of their country of origin.
Students and teachers also shared culture information, were involved in dances from various cultural groups, a fashion parade and preparation, presentation and eating of foods from around the world.
Kaye Schendzielorz, from Southern Cross Primary School, said the school and the parents’ group worked enthusiastically to plan a colourful and exciting day of food and cultural appreciation for everyone to enjoy.
“At Southern Cross Primary School we endeavour to promote valuing, understanding and accepting each others’ cultural backgrounds and traditions,” she said.
Cultural day fun for all
