THE Drum Festival got the centre of Dandenong thumping on the weekend.
Drum Theatre director Greg Hordacre said the festival was a hit. “Everyone who came saw some of the best drumming and performances around,” Mr Hordacre said. “People were blown away with the performances.”
The festival kicked off on Friday night with a performance of ‘Shifting Sand’ by Taikoz and closed with Grrilla Step on Saturday night.
Mr Hordacre said it was a treat to see the group on stage.
Guests were thrilled by a variety of acts in Lonsdale Street’s public space on Saturday, including Nicky Bomba, who led the community jam.
“He jumped off the stage and ran down Lonsdale Street playing bins and anything he could get his hands on,” Mr Hordacre said.
The Drum Festival was supported by the Drum Theatre, City of Greater Dandenong and VicUrban.
