A $10,000 donation from developers could see the Cornerstone Contact Centre fit out a new kitchen.
Grocon development manager Phil Lydeamore visited the drop-in centre in Dandenong on Friday to hand over the cheque on behalf of Grocon and VicUrban.
“Cornerstone provides an important service to the local community and we have supported them by attending lunch at the facility previously and also by providing $5000 for a freezer,” he said.
“We hope this $10,000 grant will go to ensure Cornerstone’s important work continues.”
Cornerstone Pastor Don Cameron said the money would make a significant contribution towards one of Cornerstone’s most important programs – the lunch program.
The funds will go towards kitchen upgrades including new taps, a new water cooler, an oven upgrade, and basic equipment like chopping boards, frying pans and a deep fryer.
A new gas water heater and replacement tables will also be purchased.
