DANDENONG Rangers SEABL D League Men’s team has a new coach for 2012.
Duncan Berg was named 2010 D League Coach of the Year when he guided the Nunawading Spectres to the D League Championship. He then took a break in 2011 and arrives at Dandenong with an excellent reputation for developing young players into strong senior representatives.
Berg replaces Leigh Gooding who as coach of the Rangers finished outside of finals in the 2011 season.
In other signing news, Larissa Anderson, Darren Perry and Paul Flynn have re-signed with the Rangers after getting all their sides to finals, with Anderson and Flynn’s SEABL teams winning championships.
“The inclusion of Duncan Berg will only add further expertise and another level of quality coaching throughout our senior Rangers elite ranks; we welcome Duncan to Dandenong,” Dandenong Basketball operations manager Gooding said.
“I am very pleased to be able to announce the reappointment of our championship winning coaches in Larissa Anderson and Paul Flynn, who have been excellent additions over the last couple of years for our Dandenong program.
“Further being able to lock away Darren Perry for another SEABL season following our men’s program getting back into finals basketball for the first time in a few years, gives us a great base to work from.”
SEABL training starts in November.
