Really using their heads

STUDENTS at Minaret College in Springvale were pretty in pink in October when they raised money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The girls wore pink hijabs, and Year 11 students organised a soccer game against teachers to raise money for the foundation.
More than $3400 was raised.
“The senior girls wore hijabs and sold ribbons from the Breast Cancer Foundation,” Year 11 co-ordinator Nisveta Sehavdich said.
“Students from Years 11 and 12 sold pink cakes, sweets and biscuits at lunchtime to raise money.”
Each year, the college raises money for the foundation.
“It’s entirely student-led and last year we raised $1800. So this year they’ve really done a fantastic job,” she said.
“Without their drive, we would not have raised as much as we did.”
