Country on board

SINCE its official debut at the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Adam Eckersley Band has had a steep rise in popularity.
Now there is a chance to see what the fuss is all about at the Hallam Hotel next month.
To hear Adam Eckersley Band crunching through nimble rockers, fiddle-led stompers, reflective acoustic tunes and blistering country-rock, music lovers are reminded of the broad church that is known as country today.
The musicianship, coupled with the gravelly emotive Eckersley vocals, shows why AEB is setting fire to the pews.
Having just won the 2015 Golden Guitar Award in January for New Artist of the Year, Eckersley also picked up a prestigious APRA Award for Country Work of the Year for his hit single Give Her the World.
The band has also been chosen for Commercial Radio Australia’s coveted spot on the 2015 Global Artist Showcase for CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.
It seems industry and fans alike have come together in their mutual acclaim for Eckersley whose roots are, of course, impeccable.
He writes what ZZ Top might call “beer-drinking, hell-raising,” great music – learned from many years of constantly touring both the US and Australia.
The indisputable truth is that Eckersley and his heavily bearded band of cohorts play and say what comes from their hearts and souls as long as there’s juice in the van and strings on the guitars.
Tickets are on sale for the show on Thursday 24 September at the Hallam Hotel, Princes Highway, Hallam.
Phone 8786 0200.
