Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a service station in Lyndhurst last week.
Investigators were told a man entered the service station store on Dandenong-Hastings Road around 2.45pm on Wednesday armed with what is believed to be a small axe and demanded cash from the attendant.
When the attendant locked himself in a back room, the man took items from the front counter and put them in a black backpack.
Dandenong Embona Taskforce detectives released an image of the man they would like to speak to.
He is described as Caucasian, aged between 25-30, 183 centimetres tall, of medium build with brown hair.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants with three stripes down the outside of the leg, white sneakers and a white glove over his left hand.
