MORE than 85 per cent of vehicles inspected during a Dandenong Bypass road block on Friday were not roadworthy.
VicRoads carried out Operation Trishula to check for heavy vehicle roadworthy compliance.
Transport safety services manager Russell Greenland said 62 of the 69 vehicles inspected did not comply with roadworthy standards/
“Four of the vehicles had to be towed away, including one where a trailer was broken in half and one that had no brakes,” he said.
“Other infringements included four exceeding the mass limit, one exceeding the dimension limit, seven with load restraint issues and two for unlicensed drivers.”
