SPRINGVALE-BASED company Dekech Pty Ltd and its director Kim Huee Lee have admitted to supplying, offering and possessing hydraulic trolley jacks that failed to comply with safety standards.
In August last year, Consumer Affairs Victoria inspectors seized more than 100 Mitsu brand hydraulic trolley jacks from the business.
Testing confirmed that the banned goods failed to comply with the mandatory safety standard, as they did not have prescribed warning labels.
The automotive accessories, parts, tools and equipment importer, distributor, and wholesaler, confirmed it acquired 300 of the jacks in the last 2010.
Mr Lee vowed to stop supplying the banned goods; contact all customers sold the banned goods who had not returned them to warn them of the dangers and offer them a refund; pay for a public product safety warning and recall notice; and surrender all the banned jacks and pay for their destruction and disposal.
