Parking pain

MAINTENANCE work will affect parking in Central Dandenong until early April.
Places Victoria’s contractor is working on the service roads off Lonsdale Street between Clow and Foster streets and on Langhorne Street between Lonsdale and Walker streets.
The repairs to footpaths and service roads will include loose pavers, grouting and fractured concrete paving.
Visitors to Lonsdale Street should be aware that they may need to alter their usual parking destination. Parking will be available in surrounding service roads and off-street car parks.
Closures will take place for up to 10 days, with two to three days of repairs and six to seven days of curing time.
Revitalising Central Dandenong manager Kevin van Boxtel said the general maintenance works would address defects and get it ready for the council to maintain.
“While the works are relatively minor, we acknowledge they have an impact on service road users,” he said.
“I encourage shoppers to support local businesses and keep visiting their usual destinations and using the parking available in nearby off-street car parks.
“This is about handing over a very major asset from one authority to another in the very best of repair – just like house owners and renters do when they move house.”
