Run for infant fund

SPRINGVALE police officers have helped raise $6000 for the young daughter of a former colleague who died tragically last year.
Former Springvale and Dandenong member Julie Fullager passed away on 8 March last year, leaving behind four-week-old Darcy and husband Sergeant Mick Smith.
About 20 police officers from Springvale last month joined Sgt Smith’s Melbourne East station colleagues and Ms Fullager’s family and friends for the inaugural Julie Fullager Team Fun Run around The Tan.
She was a keen runner and promoted a team approach. The event raised money for the Darcy Fullager Fund.
Springvale Constable Sally Spalding was the first female to cross the finish line, in 13 minutes.
Senior Sergeant Pam Hawker wasn’t far behind and praised the station’s efforts.
“I am very pleased with the turn out and the impressive efforts shown by all of our members who participated,” she said.
“Even the members who were unable to join us on the day still donated so that’s great.
“Julie was a dedicated member of our station and a devoted wife and mother and this run was for a very worthy cause. She will always be remembered.”
