POLICE uncovered 15 kilograms of cannabis, illegal weapons and $7000 in cash following an attempted armed robbery in Dandenong North on 19 May.
A woman knocked at the McAlpine Court home’s front door about 7.15pm on Sunday and asked for a jerry can for petrol.
When the victim tried to find one for her a man entered the home wearing a balaclava, armed with a knife and sawn-off shotgun.
He pointed the firearm at the victim and demanded cash.
A second victim was in the kitchen and overheard the demand, grabbed a samurai sword and ran from the premises screaming for help.
The offenders fled and police said no one was injured, but the victims were not forthcoming with information when officers arrived.
A subsequent search of the property revealed cash, cannabis in vacuum-sealed bags and swords.
Police have not yet laid charges.
