COMPLETE evisceration.
The Dandenong Rangers left no trace of the Ballarat Miners in their 104-61 rout.
Ballarat was effectively an up-close audience member to the destruction – with Rangers coach Darren Perry rotating the starters and still creating havoc.
Off only 22 minutes, Daequon Montreal (27 points, seven rebounds) was a monster force the Miners couldn’t remotely restrict, as was Tony Lewis (20 points, six rebounds) from only 20 minutes.
Owen Odigie (nine points, four rebounds) played his first match since June – getting through 19 minutes and troubling the Miners in close.
Dandenong has boosted its record to 14-14 and earned a home semi-final, an elimination match against Sandringham at 7.30pm on Saturday.
DANDENONG women were outgunned by the Ballarat Rush – conceding their third loss in a row in the 53-56 defeat.
It came down to three-point conversion – with the Rush striking 4/7 while Dandenong failed to hit any of their nine attempts.
Faith Probst (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Lauren Scherf (11 points, 9 rebounds) were phenomenal under the basket – giving the Rangers a 41-35 lead in the rebound count.
Rosie Fadljevic (12 points, five rebounds) was the best of the scorers while Amelia Todhunter (eight points, seven rebounds, three assists) also featured prominently in the statsheet.
Ballarat’s future WNBL Dandenong Rangers forward Alice Kunek (13 points, five rebounds) performed well at her new summertime home.
Following its three-game losing streak, Dandenong has fallen to third in the SEABL East conference and will face Geelong in an elimination semi-final on Saturday at home from 5.30pm.
