Witnesses sought for bashing

FIVE men are accused of attacking a carload of people as they tried to exit a car park about 3am on 1 September.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, in the McDonald’s car park on the corner of Princes Highway and Elonera Road, Noble Park.
Five men and women aged between 26 and 32 years were leaving the premises when the group, described as Islander in appearance, approached the car, kicked the doors and banged on the windows.
Police said that when the driver exited and approached the men, they punched him in the head and knocked him to the ground.
They assaulted another man who got out of the car, and stomped on a woman’s feet when she tried to photograph the incident.
The victims retreated to the car and drove away.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives are reviewing CCTV footage and investigating the incident.
