No dawdlers here

GREATER Dandenong’s Relay for Life will next month honour friends and family lost to cancer and support those battling the disease.
The Dingley Dawdlers came together as a group of mums who wanted to give back in some way after having two families in the same school class devastated by cancer.
They were looking for a way to honour and support their friends and all those affected in some way by cancer.
The Dawdlers and other teams will keep their batons moving around Ross Reserve Athletics Track in Noble Park from 4pm on Saturday 12 to 10am on Sunday 13 October.
They hope to donate $5000 for the Cancer Council fundraiser.
One Dawdler taking part has been directly affected by the loss of a loved one to cancer in the past year and will remember them and their brave fight.
Another will walk to celebrate survivors of cancer – a grandfather who recently recovered from the disease and a brother who won his battle as a child and is today a father of two and a paediatric anaesthetist.
Last year’s Greater Dandenong relay saw 499 people in 34 teams raise more than $113,000, which helps to fund life-saving research, prevention programs that help Victorians reduce their cancer risk, and support services.
For more information, to register or to sponsor a team visit www.relayforlife.org.au, email Dandenong@relayforlife.org.au or call 1300 656 585.
