Police frustrated

POLICE are urging the public to dob in hoons to protect themselves and their loved ones.
“We’re throwing resources at these fools that are creating the risk,” Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Scott Roberts said.
“That takes them away from our normal duties and creates a risk to the broader population.”
He said hoons were showing up on private property, including the Bunnings and Masters stores in Keysborough and factories in Licola Crescent, on Tuesday and Friday nights.
“If they decide to show off it can turn very bad, very quickly,” he said.
“The risk these people pose is enormous. Eventually something’s going to happen.
“They’re essentially trespassing.
“If these people want to turn out, they’re fair game. We’ll have a zero tolerance approach to anything they might be doing.”
Sen Sgt Roberts said hoons had caused damage to factories.
“I can understand the business owners’ frustration,” he said.
“We can’t be there 24-7. It frustrates them, it frustrates the hell out of us.”
