SOUTH Sea Roller Derby will host its first bout for the year in Keysborough this weekend.
Arch rivals the Cutthroat Charmers and the Blackheart Breakers will do battle in The Great Smashby.
The clash is a 1920s-themed extravaganza, with spectators encouraged to dress up in fashion from the era and the 1929 Dance Studio providing half-time entertainment.
A percentage of all proceeds will go to Fitted for Work, which helps disadvantaged women re-enter the workforce.
Its free services include mentoring, interview preparation, personal outfitting and work experience.
The new South Sea Roller Derby op-shop will accept donations of good-quality women’s work wear on the night.
The Great Smashby is on Saturday 8 March at Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough.
Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm event start.
There’ll be market stalls on site and a bar for over-18s.
