A NEW high-tech manufacturing plant in Dandenong will be a leading example for other companies and create six new jobs.
Technology Minister Gordon Rich-Phillips officially opened the $125,000 facility at SRXGlobal, where about 200 people are employed, on 11 April.
“Investments like these are demonstrating the confidence that technology companies like SRXGlobal have in Victorian manufacturing and, more broadly, the Victorian economy,” he said.
Mr Rich-Phillips welcomed SRXGlobal’s investment and said the Rapid prototype line would enhance the company’s technical capabilities.
He said it would be a welcome resource for the electronic manufacturing sector and an example to other companies seeking to create new markets and boost exports.
SRXGlobal’s key markets include medical devices, communications, security, defence and industrial, and it manufactures the world’s smallest ultrasound machine.
Mr Rich-Phillips said SRXGlobal’s local customers included the CSIRO, Rio Tinto, ResMed and Siemens Rail.
“Significantly, the company’s export market contributes up to 75 per cent of its production,” he said.
“This is comprised of direct exports and manufacturing into products by their clients for subsequent export sales to the USA, Europe and Asia.”
SRXGlobal also delivers design for manufacture and test services, procurement, printed circuit board and box building assembly, testing and repair services, and quality management.
