THE quiet and studious St John’s Regional College transformed into a Rock ‘n’ Roll High School last month.
The new event on 16 and 17 May included dedicated rehearsal time and instrument-specific instruction, industry workshops and a Q and A with working Melbourne band King George.
The Dandenong college’s budding musicians, singers and instrumentalists had access to the school’s recording studio, rehearsal spaces and performances areas to hone their craft.
This all led up to a Saturday afternoon performance for family and guests.
“It was definitely an amazing experience and I am so happy to have been a part of the very first Rock ‘n’ Roll High School,” year 12 student Helen Boddy said.
