Victim threatened with metal bar

A MAN was robbed and threatened with a metal weapon in Dandenong on 18 June.
The 26-year-old Dandenong South man was approached by two males, described as of African appearance, at the corner of Webster and Lonsdale streets about 1.30am.
The victim complied with a request for a cigarette.
The assailants then demanded cash, which was kept in the man’s cigarette packet.
Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton of Greater Dandenong CIU said the victim fell to the ground when he was assaulted by one of the males.
The other male brandished a “tyre-iron or a similar-type weapon” as further demands were made for the victim’s mobile phone.
The males were given the phone and cash, and escaped by foot with two other males.
The victim suffered a cut lip and a bruised head and hand.
Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
